The rules of using AmIBeingRippedOff

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of amibeingrippedoff.co.uk (the "Service"), operated by Corda Energy Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17161730), trading as AmIBeingRippedOff ("we", "us", "our").

By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What we provide

AmIBeingRippedOff is a service for UK business customers that:

We are not an energy supplier, broker, or comparison service ourselves. Our role is limited to bill analysis and introducing you to a third-party energy specialist who can act on your behalf.

3. Eligibility

You may use the Service if:

The Service is intended for business use only. We do not provide services to domestic energy customers.

4. Your obligations

When using the Service, you agree:

We reserve the right to refuse service or remove uploaded content at our discretion if we suspect a breach of these terms.

5. Overpayment estimates

The overpayment estimates produced by the Service are:

You should not rely solely on our estimates when making business decisions. We recommend obtaining quotes directly from suppliers or licensed specialists before changing contracts.

6. Specialist introductions and our commercial model

If you submit a Fight Back form, you consent to us sharing your bill and contact details with a vetted UK-based energy specialist from our panel. The specialist is a third-party organisation that may contact you, send you a Letter of Authority allowing them to request rates from suppliers on your behalf, and present contract options back to you.

How we make money — full transparency:

We may receive a fee from specialists for qualified introductions. This is how we fund the Service. We disclose this commercial relationship openly because transparency about how we get paid is central to what we stand for.

We do not, however, sell your data for marketing, advertising, list-building, or general data brokerage purposes. Your data is shared with one specialist per Fight Back submission, only with your consent, and only for the purpose of helping you find a better contract.

You are under no obligation to accept any quote or contract offered by a specialist. If you receive a quote and choose to walk away, no fees of any kind apply to you.

7. Pricing

The Service is free for end users (UK businesses uploading bills). You will never be charged by us for using the bill check or Fight Back form.

We may introduce paid services in future, in which case pricing will be clearly displayed and require your explicit agreement.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from temporary unavailability.

9. Intellectual property

All content on the Service (excluding bills you upload) including text, design, code, and branding is owned by Corda Energy Limited or our licensors. You may not reproduce, copy, or use our content without written permission.

You retain ownership of any bill or content you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and (where you consent via Fight Back form) share that content with a vetted energy specialist, solely for the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

These limitations apply whether the claim is based in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms or if continued provision of the Service is not commercially viable.

You may stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of your data, see our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when changes were last made. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
